PHRASES AND CLAUSES
A Phrase is a group of words that makes sense, but not complete sense. It has no subject and predicate.
A Phrase constitutes a single element in a sentence. A phrase expresses an idea. The words in a phrase are closely related to each other, and the phrase functions as a whole in the sentence.
Eg: 1. He left us in the morning
- They returned at sunset. (words which are in Italic & Red color is Phrase)

Pick out the phrase in the following sentences:
- Rajendra is a person of considerable renown.
- A friend in need is a friend indeed.
- It is of no use.
- Nothing can live on the moon.
- Arun comes into the garden.
- The boys went sailing over the sea.
- Honest is written in his face.
- Raghul sat for a while on the bank.
- The gun went off with a loud report.
- She stood on the bridge at midnight.

Clause
A Clause is a group of words that forms part of a larger sentence and has subject and a predicate of its own.
Eg: renu likes a story which has a moral in it.
